Situated on a 24 acre croft beside the guesthouse, Am Bothan is the Gaelic name for a small house or hut and is the name given to the first of our self-catering facilites.

Am Bothan is a modern brick built cottage, double glazed and fully fitted with household appliances but also incorporates the island tradition of coomed upper floor rooms.  The unit could offer accomodation for up to seven people (based on four adults and three children).

Ground Floor: (suitable for less able/wheelchair access)

- Hall/cloaks               - Galley kitchen         - Toilet/wet room (wheelchair friendly)

- Lounge/dining room   - Bedroom no. 1 (twin)

Lounge/dining room: This room offers panoramic views over the croft towards the east side of Benbecula.  With little modern developments in view this presents a good opportunity to look out for the short eared owls who regularly patrol the fields for voles and mice.

Includes a peat burning stove (fuel provided) along with a dining area, freesat television and DVD player.  Wired and wifi internet access available.

The downstairs bathroom includes toilet, washbasin and shower.  

Kitchen:  The kitchen comprises fridge freezer, dish washer, cooker, hob, sink, microwave and washing machine.  All crockery, cooking utensils and cleaning equipment are provided.

Upper floor:

- Hall                                    - Bedroom no. 2 (twin or kingsize)

- Bedroom no. 3 (single, child)     - Toilet/shower room     

Bedroom 2:  The master bedroom can be either a twin or a double with a possible third childs bed and outlooks eastwards onto the croft behind.  On a clear day ‘Macleod’s Tables’ on Skye can be seen on the horizon.

Other facilites included with Am Bothan:

Electric space/water heating (included in rate), cutlery, crockery, utensils, bedding and towels provided.  Wired and wifi internet access available.  Spacious off-road parking (at owners risk).  Pets are welcome if controlled at all times in our farming environment. 

Price: £300-500per week (depending on season and length of stay)
